Morocco passes the 6 million mark in Covid vaccination

A total of 127 new cases of coronavirus infection and 297 recoveries have been recorded in Morocco over the last 24 hours, the Ministry of Health announced Sunday.

The number of people vaccinated to date (1st dose) has reached 6,171,437, said the ministry in its daily bulletin on the situation of Covid-19, noting that people who have been fully vaccinated (1st and 2nd doses) are 4,500,638.

This new balance sheet brings the total number of infections since the first case reported in March 2020 to 514,944, while the number of people recovered has risen to 503,181, representing a recovery rate of 97.7%.

To date, the total number of deaths is 9,098 and the case fatality rate is 1.8%. No deaths have been recorded in the last 24 hours, said the same source.

New infections were recorded in the regions of Casablanca-Settat (73), Marrakech-Safi (22), Rabat-Salé-Kénitra (10), Souss-Massa (9), Tangier-Tétouan-Al Hoceima (7), Dakhla-Oued Eddahab (4), Beni Mellal-Khénifra (1) and Fès-Meknès (1).

The active cases are 2,665, while the severe or critical cases have reached 211, including 13 placed under intubation.
