Morocco – More than 330 hearings held remotely

A total of 338 hearings were held remotely and 6,290 cases were scheduled, of which 2,337 were decided, between June 1 and 5, according to a press release from the High Council of the Judiciary (CSPJ).

According to the press release, 7,562 detainees were tried at a distance in order to protect them from possible health risks in this exceptional situation related to the Covid-19.

The implementation of this ambitious and remarkable programme has been successful thanks to the serious and responsible involvement of all the powers and institutions and other actors involved in the justice sector.

This operation is part of the follow-up and the concern to implement in an appropriate manner the mechanism relating to remote trials, which has begun its second month in the various judicial districts of the Kingdom’s courts, adds the same source.
