Associative and economic actors of Dakhla Oued Eddahab, visiting Sunday the border crossing El Guerguarat, stressed that the peaceful and successful intervention of the Kingdom in this border crossing to dislodge the militias of the “Polisario” was wise and took place in strict compliance with international law.
In a joint statement read on this occasion, these actors said that the Moroccan intervention “helped restore the status quo, maintain peace and stability and ensure the normal and regular flow of people and goods through this border crossing as it was the case before for years”.
These actors also expressed their unconditional support for the intervention of the Royal Armed Forces (FAR), on the High Instructions of HM the King, Supreme Chief and Chief of General Staff of the FAR, to drive out the “polisario” militias and restore the movement of goods and people between Morocco and Mauritania in particular and between Europe and sub-Saharan Africa in general.
Similarly, they condemned the separatists’ provocative actions for three weeks in blocking traffic in the buffer zone of El Guerguarat, on the main road between Morocco and Mauritania, despite calls by the UN Secretary General and several countries and despite Security Council resolutions calling on the “polisario” to withdraw its militias from the region.
These associative and economic actors stressed that Morocco’s intervention in El Guerguarat has put an end to the successive provocations of “polisario” militias for years, noting that the enemies of territorial integrity jeopardize the stability and peace not only of the region, but also of the Sahara and the Sahel.
These associations have also called for an end to the ordeal and suffering endured by the people sequestered in the Tindouf camps, allowing them to return with dignity to the motherland, while calling on the international community to assume its full responsibility for the irresponsible actions of “polisario” and its violation of international rights, while supporting the autonomy proposal presented by Morocco, with a view to ending this artificial dispute.
This visit was also marked by a most brilliant participation of the Moroccan singer Mohamed El Ghaoui. Wearing the national flag, El Ghaoui, one of the pioneers of Moroccan song, performed brilliantly a new patriotic song, under the title “Assahra Maghribiya”, to the great joy of representatives of associations and economic actors of the region Dakhla Oued Eddahab.
